PAO

Palm Acid Oil (PAO) is a by-product derived from the chemical refining of crude palm oil (CPO). Characterized by its high free fatty acid (FFA) content—typically between 50% and 90%—PAO is a semi-solid, dark brown material with a strong odor. Although it is not suitable for human consumption, it holds significant commercial value across several non-food sectors.

In industrial settings, PAO is widely used in the manufacture of laundry soap and detergents, where its high FFA content is ideal for the saponification process.
